Do you have to post to your blog every day?
Not a lot new here. Granny H. has been under the weather the last few days. Her arthritis is bothering her. For her to complain means a lot. I wish she could take medications to help with the pain, but after having partial kidney failure that's not an option.
A. had her first fire drill at school today. They are starting the institutionalizing. Don't worry about learning your ABC's and 123's, learn our rules. I guess that is what kindergarten is for. I still haven't been asked to volunteer. I am a little disappointed about that. I was hoping I could be as involved with her education as I was with J and T's. I have noticed that they have people on the payroll doing the things I used to do for free. I miss DJ Wallace. He always seemed to welcome the parents participation. One of the other moms said " I think she thought I was watching her" (the teacher) when I asked her about volunteering. The daughter of A's teacher was in her room yesterday when I went to look for A's towel that has come up missing. I guess she is helping her. sigh. I don't even know if they have room mothers anymore. They preach parent involvement while keeping us at arms length. Sorry, about the bellyaching I'm just feeling a little left out.

That is unfortunate. I guess parents these days are just lazy and would rather have their children's education handled for them. Bring back the do-it-yourself spirit mom.
Incidentally Obama would be supportive. He talks a lot about how average citizens need to take ownership of their institutions, and you're both right. The government has slowly been taking away the responsibilities of traditional civic groups, and it leads to waste, and over-regulation, while disconnecting us from the community.
